I’m 53 years old and have been undergoing traditional treatment for stage 2 breast cancer for the last 6 months. I’m tired and bloated and have lost much of my zest for life. I’m anxious to get back in shape and feel like myself again. I’m hoping your center can help me.
You’ve come to the right place! Our center was designed to feed the spirit while you re-train your body and mind following the trauma of disease. By now, you’re no doubt tired of doctors and clinical settings; rest assured that you’ll feel comfortable and at ease in our private and serene studio that caters to people just like you.
Yoga is a wonderful way to stretch, tone and calm the entire body. Meditation will help you focus and de-stress, while acupuncture and massage will help release anxiety and bring a profound sense of relaxation.
Please come in so we can meet with you, evaluate your state of wellness and develop a plan to get you where you’d like to be. |

Restorative Yoga
Yoga is a Sanskrit word which translates as "to yoke" or to join the body and spirit. This ancient practice offers the opportunity to stretch and strengthen the body as we calm the mind and renew the spirit. The unique combination of postures and carefully controlled breathing bring a wonderful sense of purpose and equanimity.
Restorative Yoga is an almost completely passive style of yoga. Students are placed on various bolsters, pads, folded blankets, etc. and are completely supported in a pose. This gives them the benefits of the pose without the effort of performing it.
The antidote to stress is relaxation. To relax is to rest deeply. By supporting the body with props, we alternately stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance. Great for those in need of a "mini vacation" for the body, mind and spirit.

Lori Street-Ames, Founder OSS
Lori has been practicing yoga for five years and has found that as her practice evolved, so did her state of calmness and well-being. She was drawn to the practice of restorative yoga as an alternative to the more rigorous ashtanga yoga and is certified by Judith Lasater (who coined the phrase restorative yoga) to teach the Relax and Renew method.
Her professional background is varied and eclectic, but has always revolved around communication, education and entrepreneurship. Yoga helped her adapt and adjust to a diagnosis of a rare auto-immune disease and she attributes her physical and mental health to a dedicated practice, meditation, holistic treatments and revamped nutrition.
Her personal success in learning to manage illness led her to open the center in hopes of sharing the gifts of yoga with others in need.
